Call for JPAAP reviewers

2015-07-14

In line with the Journal of Perspectives in Applied Academic Practice’s stated aim of providing a supportive publishing outlet for new authors/researchers, we would like to recruit new reviewers to join the core reviewer pool. We are looking for both those already experienced in reviewing as well as early career academics with a background relevant to the focus and scope of the journal. Successful applicants will serve for a period of two years with new reviewers recruited on an annual basis.

JPAAP publishes two issues per year, with two special issues also set up for 2015. Articles vary in length according to the submitted section of the journal, and you will be given three weeks to complete your review, subject to publication deadline. JPAAP has an open peer review policy, meaning that the identities of the authors and those of the reviewers will be made known to each other during the review process in the following way: the reviewers will be fully aware of the name, position and institution of the authors of the manuscript they currently review, and the authors will be given a signed review with the name, position and institution of the reviewer. As a reviewer, you will be providing important feedback to authors, supporting them in the publication process as well as providing guidance to those new to writing. The editors will also give guidance and feedback to new reviewers; this is a valuable activity which contributes to scholarship within academic practice.

Individuals wishing to discuss the role in more details or wishing to apply should contact jofpaap@gmail.co.uk and include an abbreviated CV (max 2 sides A4) and a supporting statement.

Applicants will be selected based on:

  • the appropriateness of their background and area of research in relation to the focus of the journal
  • experience of the research publication process
  • written communication skills.

We look forward to hearing from you.
